Bill Major

Chief Executive Officer

Bill is a seasoned telecommunications executive with more than 20 years of experience leading teams across sales, operations, and process improvement, and a track record of delivering strong operating performance and financial results.

Most recently, Bill served as CEO and President at Everstream Solutions, LLC, where he was responsible for overseeing the execution of Everstream’s strategy as the premier enterprise and wholesale fiber platform in the Midwest of the United States.

He was also responsible for overseeing the sales, operations, legal, enterprise technology & IT and human resources executive leadership teams.

Bill first joined Everstream in 2015 as Vice President of Sales & Marketing and was promoted to Chief Revenue Officer in 2019 and President in 2021.

Prior to this, Bill held sales and operations leadership roles with Fibertech Networks (acquired by Lightower and Crown Castle), McLeodUSA (acquired by PAETEC and ultimately Windstream).

Leslie Brown

Chief Legal Officer

Leslie has over 25 years of experience advising clients on legal and regulatory matters in the cable and telecommunications industry. Most recently, Leslie served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Breezeline (formerly, Atlantic Broadband). During her time at Breezeline, she built a 14-member team, handling all legal, regulatory and government affairs matters, mergers and acquisitions, government funding for broadband expansion, ESG and risk management.

Previously, Leslie served as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Lightower Fiber Networks, where she handled all legal and regulatory affairs matters, including several corporate acquisitions, resulting in significant growth to the company. Prior to Lightower, Leslie served as Vice President of Law and Public Policy for Adelphia Communications’ Northeast Region. In this capacity, she led a team of legal and government affairs professionals responsible for all legal, regulatory and public policy matters.

Leslie served on the board of America’s Communications Association, leading the lobbying and policy advocacy efforts of the organization, which represents small and mid-size service providers before the FCC, NTIA and Congress.

Tyler Coates

Chief Revenue Officer

Tyler is a results-oriented telecommunications executive with over a decade of industry experience across large enterprises and a track record of helping businesses increase their efficiencies and network performance.

Before joining FiberLight, Tyler oversaw Zayo’s Data Center and Cloud Strategic Sales, focusing on Zayo’s largest strategic accounts. Formerly Tyler was the SVP of Central Enterprise Sales. The SVP of Enterprise Networks, leading the WANs (Multi-site connectivity), IP Products, Ethernet, Security, Cloud, CloudLink, and Media Networks businesses with ownership of the P&L, engineering, network control center, architecture, product, and service delivery functions. Tyler has served multiple roles at Zayo, including leadership roles managing Zayo’s Ethernet and Colocation Product teams. Tyler is a founding member and Co-Chairman of Community IX Holdings, formerly FL-IX, providing non-profit Internet Exchanges in the Miami and Atlanta areas. Before Zayo, Tyler has a history of management roles in the service industry, managing sales and operations teams. Tyler has an MBA from the University of Colorado and a BA in economics from Colorado State University.  In addition to his work in the telecommunications industry, Tyler serves as a Board Member for the University of Colorado, Denver business school.

Chuck Girt

Chief Technology Officer

Chuck is a seasoned telecommunications executive with more than 30 years of experience leading teams across network architecture, engineering, fiber engineering, network and field operations, enterprise technology, and IT. Chuck has built and expanded numerous large-scale, reliable network infrastructures and operated them at peak efficiency with the customer experience being a priority.

Most recently, Chuck served nearly 20 years as CTO  at Everstream Solutions, LLC. As one of the founders, he was responsible for the growth of the business and its operations. He oversaw the execution of Everstream’s technology and operations strategy as the premier enterprise and wholesale fiber platform in the Midwest region of the United States.

He was also responsible for overseeing the network architecture, engineering, network operations, enterprise technology and IT. During his time at Everstream, he oversaw field operations and service delivery; later in his tenure, Chuck also took on a business operations role.

Chuck joined Everstream in 2004 as Vice President of Engineering and Network Operations, and he was promoted to Chief Technology Officer in 2006. As a founding member, he held various positions as the business grew from a non-profit to a technology powerhouse within the Midwest.

Before, Chuck held engineering and operations leadership roles with Adelphia Communications, Northpoint DSL, and MCI. He holds a doctorate in Physics from the University of Northern California, Berkley and MBA from Carnegie Mellon Tepper School of Business.

Ronald Kormos

Chief Strategy Officer

Ron is a founding member of FiberLight and transitioned from our predecessors ACSI NT and Xspedius Communications. He has held many roles within the organization – including Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Construction, President of Texas (Operations), and Chief Development Officer – before being appointed our Chief Strategy Officer in 2014. In this capacity, he draws upon 30 years of utility construction experience and 20 years of sales development experience to build and strengthen customer and partner relationships, negotiate complex commercial agreements, and advance network expansion and other large projects. When he’s not serving as a FiberLight emissary, he enjoys traveling with his family, including regular visits to Europe.

Shane Ward

Chief Financial Officer

Shane Ward joins FiberLight as Chief Financial Officer, bringing over 20 years of C-suite experience in finance, strategic planning, and business development. Known for building financial operations from the ground up and implementing transformative strategies, Shane has a track record of driving significant revenue growth and operational efficiency. Most recently serving as CFO at Lumos Fiber, he led initiatives that doubled fiber revenue and optimized a substantial operating budget. A Chartered Accountant, Shane’s expertise spans mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and innovative financial solutions, aligning closely with FiberLight’s vision for sustainable growth.

Derin Cunning

Vice President IT

Before joining FiberLight, Derin held several leadership roles in a diverse set of industries, including Insurance/Automotive, Broadcast/Streaming Media, eCommerce, and Data Center Construction and Management Infrastructure. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Global IT Engineering and Operations at Digital Realty, where he was responsible for a highly technical and talented team of service and engineering professionals dedicated to delivering comprehensive support, innovative infrastructure design, and effective administration of DLR’s global enterprise IT infrastructure and services.

With a strong background in IT engineering and infrastructure management, Derin’s career has been characterized by a deep focus on ITIL and Core ITSM practices, continual service improvement and innovation, which he is excited to share with the FiberLight.

Jerry Horne

Vice President of Field Services

Jerry Horne is a seasoned leader in the telecommunications industry with over 35 years of experience in field operations. Currently serving as VP of Field Services at FiberLight, Jerry oversees Outside Plant Engineering, Construction, Installation & Repair, and Operations Support, ensuring strategic alignment and operational excellence across the company.

Previously, he held leadership roles at Astound Broadband and Verizon Communications, where he managed large teams, delivered major infrastructure projects, and implemented cost-saving initiatives. Known for his expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and operational efficiency, Jerry has consistently driven success in dynamic, high-growth environments.

Outside of work, Jerry enjoys playing golf and resides in Prosper, Texas.

Becky Ospina

Vice President People and Culture

Becky is an experienced Human Resources executive with over 20 years of experience in a global leadership role. Becky holds a BA degree in economics and business from the University at Albany and began her HR career at General Electric Power Systems. During her tenure at General Electric, she held roles with increasing responsibility, ultimately supporting a global workforce across several business units. Beyond her tenure at GE, Becky gained additional experience in the healthcare industry, where she served as a HR business partner and leader. Most recently, Becky served as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Onyx CenterSource, a B2B payments company in the Hospitality Industry where she led the Human Resources function serving global teams across 20+ countries.

Becky is passionate about delivering a world-class employee experience through attracting, developing, and retaining the best talent for the business. Through a business partner model, Becky and her teams have fostered a culture of excellence and innovation supporting leaders to drive performance.
